Green Steps

GREEN STEPS perform the dance steps of the Emerald Isle to traditional Irish music. Mostly with the popular groups Trad Lads or Ash Plant.
Experience the thrill and excitement when the traditions of Irish music and dance join forces in a terrific show presented by Trad Lads and Green Steps.
Jigs, reels, slides and hornpipes are skillfully performed on fiddle, banjo, bodhrán and guitar by some of the most respected players of Irish music. Meanwhile Irish dance trio Green Steps will give you a breathtaking sensation as they lift high above the stage floor in graceful leaps and jumps or step out the rhythms of the fast tunes in hard shoes. Trad Lads’ singer and guitar player, Kevin Horan, born and bred Dubliner, is a strong singer of soulful ballads and lively songs in the Irish tradition that are great to sing along to.

About Green Steps
Green Steps was formed by Marianne Green in 2003 together with Julie Mørk and Christian Hagemann. The trio has performed with great success on stages and festivals at home and abroad. Their style is a combination of the traditional and modern Irish step dancing, as is also seen in famous shows like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. What is so special about Green Step’s performances is that they bring the dance show into the smaller and more intimate setting of a music concert.
Highlights include: Copenhagen Irish Festival, Kalmar Festival in Sweden, Titano Festival and Skien Irish Festival, Norway, Folkest festival in Italy and Tesserete Irish Festival in Switzerland. The group has also performed on national television programs.
Julie Mørk and Marianne Green are both certified Irish Dance teachers with “An coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha” (Irsh dance commission) and have since 2004 been running a successful Irish dance school, Dark Green School of Irish Dancing. Christian Hagemann has won the Nordic Championship of Irish Dancing two years running for Dark Green.

Musicians and dancers in Trad Lads & Green Steps have performed on stages in numerous parts of the world such as South America, Scandinavia and Europe. Their universal language of passion and skill continues to thrill audiences wherever they go.
